Iris

In the sky I saw her first

In a dream which makes no sense

There, I felt a peace, there in my grasp of my open fist

Feeling like in the movies, all was within my lens

I was ecstatic, as a boy discovering the ability of a smile

All the rules were there, set and then broken

In my own world of nostalgia and dire

Terrified of the next day, lest all be forgotten

A heavy breath

I sorrowful seethe

A painful, enduring death

A teared book

A place for me to escape and sheath

In you, I look for freedom

In you, I shall be closest to deliverance

As turmoil and desolation, yes, in me I see them

Where’s the sense in this? Forsaken this my happenstance!

As I do not want the world to see me

As I do not think they would understand

But I want you, for you to know you I am

As I don’t know if I alive or dead I stand
