Ode To Evona [Part II]
Come, let me show an insight of her
She’s mystifying as winter’s night yet there is a brightness and tenderness to her soul
Always struggling, and if for once her whole could learn to bear
She would finally smile instead of allowing stress to bestow its toll
For she suffers an illness she never seems to be over
Efficiently rotting her from the inside
Unlike a sunflower, she feels the sun is not only the one who needs to love her
So alone she waits to jump into life with the right stride
True her blood has yet to come to her aid
For even once would have been once far one to many
Sad, how unhealthy ignorance makes one fade
For strength that is strength is worth more than the gift of a silver penny
My Lord, she needs for you to open her eyes
And prove there is hope below all skies
Otherwise she’ll be on the run ‘til the end of her days
And waste away ‘til released on the day she dies
I fear for her and for my heart,
As I’m sure you’ll soon find and fare
An angel on earth is as rare as land
In my inner ocean of despair
Yes. She does not know how much I justly care
And I do not think she’ll ever will
For in my eyes she doesn’t even dare to glare
So in confidence I pray. I’ll pay her bill
If your bidding commands that I must loose her to set her free
God, take my heart and hide it forever off my sight if that’s the way it has got to be
There will be no need to further punish me, as I’ll wait until it is my time
My peace of mind her smile will be, as I’ll strive with my sentenced irony
